INTASC Standard 3 - Adapting Instruction for Individual Need
" The teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners."
It is important that a teacher can adapt and change a lesson plan to fit the needs of his or her students in an instant. With various learning disabilities, injuries and complications that a student may have it is crucial that a teacher adapt to students’ on of their needs when teaching. As a freshman in college I am still under going the process of learning techniques that I can use when teaching my own students in the future. As of now I am still learning he basics of effective teaching styles and various situations that I may be put in during my education career. In college I can take a variety of education courses that can teach e the methods that can I can use in the classroom. I plan to further my knowledge to the point where I have mastered adjusting my lesson plan to help fit each and every student that I have.
As educators, especially in a secondary setting, we must be able to adapt our teaching styles so that students can successfully retain information that we are giving to them. I can achieve this by offering students more hands on approaches that can have them physically become involved with the lesson as well mentally think and create through various musical activities, lessons, and options. Through this musical setting, I hold an advantage over subjects that mostly use a information based classroom setting.
As a teacher I understand that not all students develop and understand material the same way. The learning opportunities that I provide my students must be able to suit all types of learners while still being able to provide performance based opportunities in the classroom. Some students may need individual needs taken care of in order for the best educational experience to take place. As a teacher I must understand these needs and adapts my classroom, lesson plan, and other situations in order to provide the best learning experience possible.
Secondary General Music Listening Lesson Plan
This lesson plan shows another technique in which I can assess student knowledge and give them an opportunity to show their basic understanding of skill. This listening lesson provides the teacher with a good assessment of how students learn aurally and how I can adjust my teaching techniques to best fit that students needs.

Study Guide - Mythology Unit
This study guide was presented to students right before a written assessment was given to them after my LAMP unit was completed. The information on this guide was designed to guide students down the necessary path to succeed on the final assessment. This study guide is an excellent example of the differential strategies that I can use inside the classroom.
